Dave Thorne, aka Delicious Dave, shares his recipe for fennel meatballs with homemade red sauce.
“Every week, my kid wants meatballs,” he said. “They love it, so I make it.”
Not only can parents pack the balls with the meat of their choice — Delicious Dave’s call for pork and bison — but there’s potential to add a little healthy surprise inside.
“If you want to put chopped up spinach in there to mimic what the herbs look like or any other kind of vegetable, just to get a little more whole food in them, it’s a great way to disguise vegetables,” he said.
