Runaway teen girl found safe at Northway Mall

Update: Silook was found safe with friends at Northway Mall Friday evening, police said.

Police are asking for public help locating a teenage runaway last seen in East Anchorage Friday afternoon.

Jeanette Silook, 13, is described by the Anchorage Police Department as about 4 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 90 pounds. According to an APD statement released within hours of Jeanette’s disappearance, she has blonde hair with dark roots and was last seen wearing a short purple dress with black leggings and black and white tennis shoes.

The teenager ran away from her foster mother around 12:40 p.m., police said, and was last seen near the Alaska Native Medical Center on Tudor Road.

APD said anyone with information on Jeanette’s disappearance is asked to call police at 907-786-8900.
