Police locate missing Anchorage man

By KTVA CBS 11 News 10:19 PM July 30, 2014
ANCHORAGE –

Update: Michael Cantrell was found safe, police said Friday.

Police are asking for help finding a 56-year-old Anchorage man.

Michael Cantrell last talked to his family July 16 when he told them he had found a new home in Fairview, said Anchorage Police Department spokeswoman Dani Myren in a statement. He did not, however, say where in the neighborhood the new residence was located.

Cantrell’s family said that his disappearance and lack of contact with family members isn’t normal for him, Myren said. He suffers dementia and other medical conditions, police said, and relatives are concerned about his well-being.

Police describe Cantrell as about 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds with graying hair and brown eyes. Authorities ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call APD dispatch at 786-8900.
