Police investigate Northeast Anchorage shooting

A woman was shot. The severity of her injuries is not known at this time.

ANCHORAGE – Police are investigating a shooting that happened in northeast Anchorage Wednesday evening.

Around 7:33 p.m., Anchorage Police Department dispatch received a call reporting the shooting, according to a statement from police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro. It happened in the 700 block of Klevin Street, which lies near the intersection of Bragaw Street and DeBarr Road.

Once to the area, police and medics found a woman had been shot, Castro said.

She was taken to a local hospital. The severity of her injuries is not known at this time.

A suspect has not been taken into custody, Castro said.
