Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a man suspected of assaulting three people in Downtown Anchorage on April 19.
Kenneth Moto, 39, led police on a chase Friday evening, authorities said.
Moto eventually crashed a vehicle and took off on foot, police said. He ran behind the Muldoon Fred Meyer in the area of Old Harbor Avenue, said Anchorage Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Castro in a statement.
Police and K-9 units combed a wooded area off Old Harbor Avenue and Creekside Street for hours Friday night, but weren’t able to nab Moto.
An arrest warrant was issued for Moto after he allegedly assaulted 36-year-old Daniel Stewart, 27-year-old Lavon Kittick and an unidentified male victim outside the Panhandle Bar on Fourth Avenue. Stewart was hospitalized and passed away April 22. Kittick’s jaw was broken after being punched, charging documents say.
Moto has been charged with manslaughter and assault. Police are asking anyone who has seen him to call 911.
