Plane stolen from Birchwood Airport, police say

By KTVA CBS 11 News 2:20 PM June 23, 2014
ANCHORAGE –

Police are asking the public for tips after a plane was stolen from the Birchwood Airport earlier this month.

The 1950 Piper PA-18 — reported stolen around June 6 — has a tail number of N7533K and is described as lime green and white in color. It has tundra tires, a damaged tail with a missing elevator and data plate 18-249, said the Anchorage Police Department in a statement.

The plane doesn’t fly, police said, and thieves could be selling it for parts. APD is asking anyone with information to call detective Tiffani Loughman at 786-2448 with information. People can also submit anonymous tips through Anchorage Crime Stoppers by calling 561-STOP or by submitting a tip online.
