While fewer people are giving to nonprofits and charities through Pick.Click.Give., manager Sofia Fouquet explains that those who are have given larger amounts this year.
“We actually hit $2 million over the weekend, so that was a great thing to celebrate,” she said, and acknowledged that last year, the organization received $3.1 million. “While we’re a little bit behind from the 2016 numbers, we’re closing that gap and do expect we’ll finish around $2.5 to $2.8 million.”
It’s not too late to donate through Pick.Click.Give. Alaskans who’ve already finished their Permanent Fund Dividend applications can still go into their profile and make a donation. Fouquet says that those who do so before March 31 have a chance to “double their dividend” for themselves and a charity of their choice.
