Ostrander retains title in Mount Marathon junior race

SEWARD –

Allison Ostrander shattered her own record Friday morning to take first place overall in the Mount Marathon junior division in 28:54.

Hailing from Soldotna, the seasoned competitor beat her 2013 record by nearly three minutes and crossed the finish line less than a minute ahead of fellow junior racer Michael Marshall. Marshall, who finished in second place with a final time of 29:36, barely edged out competitor Luke Jager. And Jager, who clocked in at 29:42, was just one second ahead of fourth-place overall finisher Roan Hall.
