ELIGIBILITY: Legal residents of Alaska in the KTVA/CBS 11 viewing area, who are 18 years of age or older at time of entry are eligible to enter, except employees of Sponsor, and any other organizations affiliated with the sponsorship, fulfillment, administration, prize support, advertisement or promotion of the Sweepstakes and/or their respective agents, affiliates, subsidiaries and members of their immediate families or household members. “Immediate family members” shall mean parents, step-parents, children, step-children, siblings, step-siblings, or spouses. “Household members” shall mean people who share the same residence at least three months a year. .
PRIZE: One (1) Winner will receive a Grand Prize package of a trip for two to Las Vegas. Prize includes roundtrip coach airfare for two from Anchorage to Las Vegas, and three night’s standard room hotel accommodations (one room, double occupancy) at the MGM Grand (or like hotel on the Las Vegas Strip). Airport transfers and ground transportation are not included. Value of airfare and hotel expenses covered in the prize package is not to exceed $3,500. Prize package is not redeemable for cash. Winner must allow 6 weeks in advance to coordinate travel dates. The trip may be taken with travel beginning as early as February 26, 2013, but travel and prize award must be completed before the end of the 2013 calendar year.
Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if prize cannot be awarded as described. Sponsor will determine all elements of prizing in its sole discretion. Prizes may not be assigned, transferred, changed or redeemed for cash, except at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Prizes are awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee express or implied by Sponsor. Sponsor disclaims all and any liability for the actual provision, quality or nature of any third-party product or service accepted by the winners.
TAXES: All taxes, if any, associated with the receipt or use of the prizes are the sole responsibility of each winner. Grand prize winner will receive an IRS 1099-MISC tax form.
All applicable federal, state or local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. No substitution or transfer of prize is permitted by winner. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to the sponsor and it’s agents to use the winner’s name and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. By accepting prize, winner agrees to hold sponsor, it’s respective directors, officers, employees and assigns, harmless against any and all claims and liability arising out of the use of the prize. By participating in this promotion, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the final decisions of the sponsor. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the contest or in the announcement of prizes. Non-compliance with rules by winner or qualifiers my result in the forfeiture of prize or disqualification of entrant. Entrant must be at least 18 years of age by entry deadline, and be an Alaska state resident with valid Social Security number. Prize is non-transferable and has no cash value.
WINNER SELECTION: On or about January 7, 2013, Sponsor will conduct a random drawing from among all eligible entries received during the Promotion Period containing the correct code word to select one (1) Grand Prize Winner.
ODDS of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received containing the correct code word.
SELECTION OF WINNERS: Potential winner will be notified by phone, text message, and/or e-mail. The awarding of any prize is contingent upon full compliance with these Official Rules. Entrants agree to be bound by Official Rules and agree that if any winner fails to provide proof of identity, refuses to provide required documentation, is found to have violated Official Rules, or otherwise does not meet eligibility criteria, prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner in a random drawing.
If a potential winner submitted an online entry, the winner notification may be sent by phone or email. If a potential winner submitted a mobile entry, the winner notification may be sent via mobile message to potential winner’s wireless device from the Sponsor. Regular carrier charges for text messages or mobile telephone calls may apply in connection with notifications from Sponsor. During the Promotion Period, Sponsor, at its discretion, may send entrants unlimited additional notifications regarding the sweepstakes. Entrants may be charged standard carrier-specific text-message, data, or call rates, depending on entrants’ individual wireless or non-mobile pricing plans, for these additional notifications. There is no limit as to the number of notifications the Sponsor may send during the eligibility period or restriction on when notifications may be sent. If you do not want to receive further notifications, send a text message to 28201 with the message “STOP” from the wireless device you used to enter. If you submit a wireless entry, you agree to have your home phone number information and registration information remain on Sponsor databases.
IDENTITY OF ENTRANTS: In the event of a dispute as to the identity or eligibility of a potential winner, the potential winning entry will be declared made by the “Authorized Account Holder” of the email address or wireless phone number submitted at time of entry and such person must comply with these Official Rules.
“Authorized Email Account Holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, education institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address.
In the event of a dispute as to the identity or eligibility of a potential winner based on a wireless phone number, the potential winning entry will be declared made by the “Authorized Account Holder” of the wireless phone number at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant and must comply with these Official Rules. “Authorized Wireless Phone Number Account Holder” is the natural person who is assigned the wireless phone number by wireless service provider responsible for assigning that wireless phone number. Use of script, macro or other automated devices is not valid for entry and all such entries will be void. Sponsor may ask any entrant or potential winner to provide Sponsor with proof that such party is the Authorized Account Holder of the email account or wireless phone number associated with the entry.
PRIVACY AND USE OF INFORMATION: Registration for Sponsor’s ktva.com website is required for online entry into the Sweepstakes. Information collected from online entrants is subject to Sponsor’s online privacy policy at Sponsor’s web site listed above. Except where prohibited by law: (i) entry constitutes permission for Sponsor and its designees to use entrant’s entry, name, hometown, voice, likeness, photograph and any statements regarding this sweepstakes in all media now known or hereafter discovered, for any purpose, including without limitation, in connection with, and to promote, market or advertise, the sweepstakes, in whole or in part, without review, approval, credit or attribution, notification or payment from or to entrant or any person or entity, worldwide, in perpetuity, or on a winner’s list, if applicable.
RELEASE: Potential winners will be required to complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release of Liability/Publicity within ten (10) business days of notification or an alternate winner may be selected by random drawing. If prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, potential winners are not in compliance with these Official Rules, or Sponsor is unable to contact a potential winner within a reasonable time period, such winner may be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected by random drawing, at Sponsor’s sole discretion.

GOVERNING LAW: The promotion and rights and obligations of the Sponsor and participants will be governed and controlled by the laws of the State of Alaska, applicable contracts made and performed therein without reference to the applicable choice of law provisions. All actions, proceedings or litigation relating hereto will be instituted and prosecuted solely within the State of Alaska, Municipality of Anchorage.
