Nordic skiing association celebrates golden anniversary

Founded in 1964, the club's notable achievements include building and maintaining ski trails across Anchorage and founding the Tour of Anchorage in 1990.

ANCHORAGE – The year 2014 marks the Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage’s 50th anniversary, and the popular outdoor club is commemorating the occasion with several public events.

The perennially popular Tour of Anchorage takes place March 2, the 50th anniversary celebration is scheduled for November 1 at Kincaid Park and the association’s summer trail work party is planned for a yet-to-be-announced date later this year.

Founded in 1964, the club’s notable achievements include building and maintaining ski trails across Anchorage and founding the Tour of Anchorage in 1990.
