Lawmakers Respond to Questions About Per Diem, Leave

The following is a list of the Alaska State House representatives and Alaska State Senate senators who have requested and received permission to leave during the special session.

KTVA has reported multiple stories about the Alaska State Legislature, its per diem rules and the process by which lawmakers request and receive approval to leave during special session for personal or state-related business, or a combination.

The following is a list of the Alaska State House representatives and Alaska State Senate senators who have requested and received permission to leave during the special session. 

Click an individual representative or senator’s name to read their responses to the following inquiries:

  • Have you taken per diem pay during the first 18 days of the special session for time you were on personal business?
  • Is it okay for lawmakers to receive per diem pay while in their home district and staying at their own home?
  • In an interview, leaders of the State House and Senate said they believe it is up to the public to police the per diem pay policies of lawmakers. Do you agree?

I submited a comment but I guess this rag didn't like knowing that these law makers should not be paid at all since they didn't do their job in them first place, that is why they are in a speical session. To leave, they should resign so we can get people that want to work for alaska not robe them for their friends. Finch should be the first since he is in leadership
