Missing Woman Believed AbductedDisappeared from coffee stand Wednesday nightANCHORAGE - Anchorage police now say they believe Samantha Koenig, the 18-year-old barista from the Common Grounds coffee stand who was last seen on Wednesday at 8 p.m., was abducted. Koenig is 5'4", 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. According to Sargent Slawomir Markiewicz of the homicide unit, the police are following up on a number of leads but no one is in custody yet. A suspect was caught on tape from the stand wearing a dark hoodie and possibly a baseball cap. "What we can say is we watched the video," said Markiewicz. "[There's] little doubt left she was abducted." Police know that she did walk away from the coffee stand with the suspect and they believe he was a stranger. There was no money left in the coffee stand after the event took place. Anyone who might have seen Koenig and a male walking in the area of Old Seward and Tudor Wednesday night between 8 and 8:30 p.m. should call APD immediately at 786-8900. It is out of character for her not to return home and to not let anyone know where she is, according to Markiewicz. Other young women from her coffee stand are taking percautions by doubling up on shifts. They are also handing out flyers to coustumers.
