ALASKA - On Adak Island, things got pretty explosive earlier last week after residents stumbled upon a piece of long forgotten piece of history.

Two active bombs left over from a World War Two era military installation were found buried in the ground on a local road.

It was too dangerous for the residents to remove themselves. So, they called in airmen from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, who promptly hauled off the bombs and detonated them in a nearby hillside.
