Local volunteers, students and teachers hit the streets Thursday with one goal: to increase Alaska's high school graduation rates dramatically over the next decade.

Only 70 percent of Alaska high school seniors graduated on time in 2010. Students from West High School are partnering with the United Way to raise that number, and they're asking the community to help them reach their goal.
