The dispute between the Sheraton Hotel and Local 878 began eighteen months ago, but representatives from both sides of the argument say the fight is far from over.

Last year, 100 of 160 hotel employees voted to drop union representation, prompting the union to call for a hotel boycott and file sixteen seperate complaints with the National Labor Relations Board.

A judge assigned to the dispute recently ruled in favor of the union on most of those counts.

"This is one of those days when we feel justice has been served." said Local 878 President Marvin Jones. "We will continue to fight, and we hope the community will become more and more aware of the struggles of these workers."

Local 878 has now filed an additional 30 unfair labor practice charges against the Anchorage Sheraton, but hotel officials said they'll continue to stand up for those employees who moved to drop union representation in the first place.
