Thirteen teenagers took part in the Junior Iditarod. Sixteen-year-old Noah Periera, of New York, won the Junior Iditarod and will drive the first sled down Fourth Avenue during the ceremonial start of the Iditarod on March 2. |

Thanks for the coverage. I'm from PA where competitor Taylor Steele is from. A bunch of us in PA were following the race closely. It's nice to see coverage like this, especially the Jr. Iditarod since a lot of people don't even know it exists. Congratulations to all the competitors.

Thanks for this coverage! As an Iditarod fan in western NY, any race news is welcome. Added to that is the fact that Noah and my grandson are classmates and friends, so it was a real kick to see him in action! Congrats to all 13 young mushers!
