Road to King Cove Continues
Residents want the road for direct access
WASHINGTON D.C.- The road to King Cove may happen after all.
Interior Secretary Ken Salazar says: he wants to review a decision by U.S. Fish and Wildlife made last year, that recommended "no action" on the road because of environmental concerns.
In his second review Salazar will focus on a land exchange ... Between the King Cove community and the state -- in the Izembek National Wildlife Refuge -- that will make the one-lane gravel road possible.
The community of King Cove wants the road for direct access to an all-weather airport in near-by cold bay.
