James Stanton was arrested on charged of Official Misconduct and Bribery on January 19. Stanton was supervising the woman's probation compliance, and detectives say he certified her urine test as showing negative results even though she admitted using drugs before testing.
James Stanton was arrested by SVU and Vice Unit detectives in the basement of the Nesbett Courthouse where he worked in the ASAP program. He was jailed on $10,000 bail with a Court approved third party custodian required for release.
Detectives believe that there may be other probationers who have been victimized by this suspect. Anyone with information about such criminal activity should contact Anchorage Police Department at 786-8900.
