You see the signs all over Anchorage: "Drive Drunk, Lose Your Car."   According to Anchorage Police, that's not the only thing that will make your wheels vanish if you get caught.

That's exactly what several men learned in late July during a prostitution sting in Spenard.

In total, police arrested seven men on charges of soliciting prostitution during the bust on July 29th.  Of the seven men arrested, officers also impounded the cars of five of the men.  Officers say the other two men solicited undercover officers while on foot.

The men arrested were 30-year-old Sione Faamoana Lima, 40-year-old Robert Russell Erdle, 44-year-old David Paul Ash, 48-year-old Michihiro Konno, 39-year-old Michael Lee Sexton, Carroll T. Roach and Everett Harold Sager.

All of the men now face one count of Solicitation for Prostitution.

According to city laws, anyone who picks up a prostitute while driving will have his or her car seized for 30 days. The owner of the car must then pay all towing, storage and impound fees, which can run several hundreds of dollars.

If this is the second prostitution related crime involving the vehicle, it will be seized and sold at auction.

Police say the reason behind the law is because the vehicle is an instrument of the crime, which in this case is prostitution.

Although prostitution is commonly known as the oldest profession, police say it is often linked to human trafficking and drug crimes, and that's why it's important to continue prostitution stings.   Officers say in many cases the prostitutes themselves are victims of violence, drug addiction and sex slavery.

Heu guys, its a sad deal,I've been in this town since 1969,when it was common to see law inforcement using the services, now they say its to stop drugs and crime. Then why is it there is this group of ladys that have walked the streets for over 15 to 20 years now,and when you look at them you can see the obvious signs of hard drug use. Ok guys. If she doent appear to have a drug problem, she's the police ok. I'm a victim my self. I even told her she was the police and I was still arrested. She was hot,it was obvious. Moral of the story, eaither find a un happy wife,or a single mother with children,by some food for them. Its cheaper and legal. :) and if You are going to solicite,go to las vegas.
