Pick.Click.Give. Offering Incentives for Record PerformancePledges additional funds for groups receiving highest increase of donationsANCHORAGE - In record time, Pick.Click.Give. has received more than $1 million in donations. But new incentives from the program's sponsors are pushing the nonprofits involved to break their own fund-raising records. Groups participating in Pick.Click.Give. for the first time will compete against each other, with the highest earner getting an additional $2,500. As for groups which have participated in the charity before, the three nonprofits whose donations increase by the highest percentage will be eligible for an extra $5,000. “That's something for Alaskans to keep in mind when they're making a contribution through P-C-K,” said Heather Beaty, the program manager for the Pick.Click.Give. “There are not only the funds that they're sharing with the organization, but there's an opportunity for these organizations to earn a little bit extra.” The average donation to Pick.Click.Give. last year was about $92 per donor. That generated $2.2 million last year from 23,169 donors. Even with those large numbers, Beaty said the incentives can mean a lot to any nonprofit, no matter what its size. “I think the $5000 is important to any organization,” she said. “Some organizations raise quite a bit of money through Pick.Click.Give., we had one organization set a new record last year by raising over $100,000. Other organizations only raise a few hundred, or a few thousand dollars. “But to any non-profit organization, $5,000 of unrestricted funds is hugely important to delivering their missions.” Just over four percent of Alaskans donated to Pick.Click.Give. last year. Beaty said the program is working to get that number up to five percent this year. |
