Keeping the Shootout Strong

CBS 11's Corey Allen-Young takes a look at the Great Alaska Shootout and the direction it's taken

It's as part of Thanksgiving in Alaska as are turkey and stuffing.

The Great Alaska Shootout has been dishing up basketball for Alaskans for more than 30 years. But in its 34th year, legendary teams like Kentucky, Duke, and North Carolina are now being replaced with teams from schools like Dartmouth, Central Michigan, and Murray State. Quality teams, but not exactly like elite NCAA Division One teams. Officials say that a problem began to start when the tournament's former partners became their competition.
