Fall is officially upon us and I know it's tough to swallow, but I know many of us are wondering when we might see our first snow in Anchorage.

I decided to go back over the past 20 years and see on what date Anchorage saw it's first measurable snow (0.10'' or more).  Here is what I found.  The numbers are courtesy the National Weather Service Office Anchorage.

- October 13th - 0.90''

- October 13th - 8.20''
- September 30th - 3.00''
- October 17th - 0.30''
- October 8th - 0.10''
- October 14th - 1.90''
- September 21st - 0.10''
- October 14th - 2.20''
- October 17th - 0.20''
- October 13th - 0.20''
- October 12th - 0.10''
- October 11th - 0.40''
- November 13th - 0.10''
- November 10th - 1.20''
- September 25th - 6.00''
- October 28th - 0.10''
- October 26th - 1.40''
- October 23rd - 0.80''
- October 6th - 1.10''
- November 8th - 1.10''

The earliest date that we have seen measurable snow (0.10'' or more) was on September 20, 1947 and the latest date we've seen measurable snow (0.10'' or more) was on November 13, 2002.
