The UAA volleyball team lost a tough four-set match in the NCAA Division II Championships last night, but without star player Jackie Matthisen they wouldn’t have gone that far

Since picking up a volleyball in the fifth grade at Nunaka Valley Elementary School, UAA's Player of the Year Jackie Matthisen’s dream was to play for the Seawolves – and she hasn’t disappointed, leading her team to a third straight playoff appearance, a remarkable feat that, if you ask her, she won’t take any credit for at all.
