Comment Period Opens for ANWR Draft

A proposal on the long-term management of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is out and open for public comment. 

The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge released the latest draft of its Comprehensive Conservation Plan (CPP) and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). 

According to a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services statement,the draft consists of six different management plans that include newer scientific information and changes in laws, policies and refuge conditions. The current CPP is 23 years old. 

 

Fish and Wildlife Service Officials will listen to public comments in Anchorage at the the Loussac Library Wilda Marston Theater from 3pm-9:30pm on Wednesday, September 21st. 

The public comment period opend on August 15th and ends November 15th. If you are unable to make the meetings there is an online option available and we've provided a link under our on-air links tab.
