If you're a baseball fan, you've probably heard of Big Papi, a.k.a. David Ortiz.

And, if you're an adorable dog fan, you've may have heard of Little Papi.

Both Big and Little Papi are pretty popular in their own right, and the fact that Little Papi is at Anchorage Animal Care & Control might come as a surprise to some.

He’s a Pomeranian mix that came to the shelter as a stray. “We were surprised nobody came in looking for him,” said Brooke Taylor of Anchorage Animal Care & Control.

She said that despite a common misconception, there are small dogs available for adoption at the shelter. “It's just they get adopted very quickly.”

Papi is what you call a lap dog—if you have a lap, you'll have a Papi—and we have scientific evidence to back that up.

In true Papi form, guess which one he picked?

This little guy is $195 to adopt because he still needs his vaccinations, microchip and neuter surgery.
