ALASKA - The Alaska SeaLife Center announced the birth of a baby harbor seal on Tuesday. Kobuk, named by SeaLife Center staff after a vote, was born to two of the center's seals, Atuun and Snapper.

Eight-year-old Atuun gave birth to Kordelia, her first pup, on June 8, 2011.

The center estimates Kobuk weighed 22 pounds at birth and now weighs 66 pounds. He's expected to make his public debut in early August; information on his debut will be on the SeaLife Center's Facebook page.
