ANCHORAGE - Anchorage police have a new tool -- a brand new van for processing crime scenes, and Wednesday the media was invited to take a a look inside the 38-foot 26,000 pound van, which was funded by state money. It replaces one that was 18 years old and had mechanical problems. The van has been out on eight already and the six-person unit is noticing the effects.

C.S.I. Lead Detective Harry Strahle said, "The exterior lighting -- everybody knows to do a crime scene, you got to have good light. We had no external lights on the old van at all; I can light Mulcahy Stadium now."

APD say that the old van will end up going to another unit.
