Alaska Competes For Best Fishing Town

Seward and Homer are competing to be named the nation's Ultimate Fishing Town USA and prize money

Alaska is known for its fishing, and both Seward and Homer are must stops for any serious local angler or tourist. This year both cities are competing to be named the nation's “Ultimate Fishing Town USA,” sponsored by the World Fishing Network.

People can vote on-line every six hours for their favorite US fishing destination. The winning city gets $25,000 for fishery programs and a feature television program from the network.

What- No Valdez? All these communities have lots of fish. Valdez has much more protected water, scenery, and generally bigger bag limits.
