This Memorial Day has been a solemn, respectful remembrance of our fallen protectors. God bless them and us.

I frankly am insulted that we have made veterans day an issue about sexual orientation. Sexual orientation should have nothing to do with being a veteran. Where is the Native American, Hispanic American, African American, Asian American Veterans celebrations on this day. Mind you this is coming from a average white monogamous male which I consider myself a Heinz 57 type American. I served 30 years and never really cared what color your skin was or even if you were male, female gay or lesbian. If you could do the job great otherwise move on to something else your fit to do. To be a bit sarcastic where is our gay and lesbian Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Christmas, and however many other special days someone can come up with. I apologize for the last comment but it is pathetic to see a group treated in such a special way when they say they want to be treated the same as anyone else.
