The annual Fur Rondy tribute to the mighty mollusk celebrated its 25th anniversary at the oyster-shucking contest.

And even after all of these years, event organizer Shane Borschnack said “they eat’em faster than we can shuck’em" and the people just keep coming back for more.

Monday evening’s top three shuckers are invited back to the Sea Galley Friday night to compete in the finals; shucking contest winners received a $50 gift certificate to Nordstrom department store.

Prizes for third place is dinner for two at The Peppermill, right next door to Sea Galley; second place will take home an authentic Iditarod parka; and the first place winner will get a 26 Glacier Cruise for two.
