Fur Babies Celebrated at ‘Pawstice’ Weekend FestivalEvent organizer David Jensen said the purpose of Pawstice is to “strengthen the connection between people and their animals.”
It’s a solstice celebration with a furry twist.
This weekend at the Ruth Arcane Park in South Anchorage, animal lovers and their four-legged friends celebrated Pawstice. Event organizer David Jensen said the purpose of Pawstice is to “strengthen the connection between people and their animals.” A minister was also on site to perform dog blessings. Dog owner Karen Thomas, whose aging dog Milo turns 15 in August, was among the many pet parents who showed up to have their fur babies blessed. “They love us unconditionally. [They’re] loyal, fun, friendly and happy and we want them to live as long as they possibly can,” said Janye Jones, another dog owner. Jensen said he hopes to make Pawstice an annual gathering that gets bigger and better every year. |
