Leave was denied? But took it off anyway? This would be grounds for termination at nearly any workplace.

Was this a promotion, or lateral move? The docket seems unclear. An awful lot of hubub for a lateral move, if that is the case.

The headline is good for sensationalism, however, the case for discrimination was NOT won. The jury's verdict was because of retaliatory behavior. Additionally, a return of $100,000 when 10 times that was requested sends another message from the jury.

You all need to get your heads out of your you know what. I am an advocate for women that are activists. She is not only standing up for her rights, but for the rights of other minorities. It takes a strong woman like Mrs. Janet to stand up for herself as she did even though she is at risk for public scrutiny. As for you Jean Massy, being Native American I hope you know that you are a minority as well. Your comments are very insulting, and immature. As for confused, if your Dr. told you that if you don’t take leave it could be life threatening, I’d guarantee you would take it off too. Proof she had a heart attack. I don’t care who the employer is, people should be treated fairly, and nobody should ever go through what Mrs. Janet went through.

She deserves more restitution. Yes this is just the tip of the iceberg. Channel 11 should ask how many cases are at JBER right now. Jean Massey, you should be ashamed of yourself with those comments. And Confused, leave was wrongfully denied based on her condition. It's called retaliation. She won that part. I am glad she won and that this case is in the public eye. I along with a multitude of people agree with her lawyer that there is no real accountability for those that do harm because we as taxpayers are paying the debt for them. It should come out of the paycheck of those that wrongfully harm. Placing the case on a bulletin board for all too see is not enough punishment.
