Murderer convicted in 2013 Mountain View robbery

By Hope Miller 5:31 PM May 27, 2014
ANCHORAGE –

A man convicted in a double robbery homicide back in 1976 was found guilty of first-degree robbery Tuesday.

Randy Lee Osborne, 57, robbed a Mountain View Shell gas station in January 2013, according to a statement from the Alaska Department of Law. He was on parole release at the time of the felony robbery.

A Shell station employee told Anchorage police that a man, later identified as Osborne, told him to fork over money if he didn’t want to be shot. Osborne told the employee he had a gun in his right hand that he concealed in his pocket, the Department of Law said.

The employee handed over about $438 and Osborne left in the passenger seat of a vehicle.

Osborne is slated to be sentenced Oct. 2 and faces a sentence of at least 15 to 20 years in prison.
