The multi-vehicle collision occurred after one car was stuck on the highway, said police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro. A motorist stopped to help and cars starting crashing into each other.
Only one minor injury was reported, Castro said, and all lanes are open.
If your car gets stuck on the highway, police say it’s best to call them so something similar doesn’t happen. They also urge motorists to slow down when there’s a crash.

The crash happened on the inbound lane to Anchorage around milepost 20.
At about 8 p.m., some cars were still in the ditch and tow trucks were working to remove cars.
ANCHORAGE – One inbound lane of the Glenn Highway is temporarily closed following a nine-car collision Tuesday evening, Anchorage police said.
The incident occurred around 6 p.m. between North and South Birchwood. No details were immediately available regarding the cause of the collision or possible injuries.
After the National Weather Service issued a freezing rain advisory Tuesday morning, state transportation officials reported icy and wet roads throughout Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley.
