Operation Homefront gives woman a new home
ANCHORAGE – An Anchorage soldier is the proud owner of a new home thanks to Operation Homefront.
The organization gave the keys to Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Monica Miracle Tuesday morning. She and her daughter are currently renting an apartment.
Miracle has served 22 years as a health care specialist and will retire from the military next year. She says she’s overwhelmed by the community’s generosity.
“I thank all of you very much again,” Miracle said. “I’m proud to be able to work with you and serve with you. I appreciate the community in Anchorage, Alaska. It’s unlike anywhere I’ve experienced anywhere in my military career.”
Operation Homefront works with Wells Fargo, which has donated 65 homes to veterans this year. The bank plans to donate another $30 million to help servicemen and women get back on their feet.
