They’re a local blues band with a hint of rock and roll. HarpDaddy and the BackCountry Mojo featuring Mudd Puddle rocked out Friday morning for Daybreak’s Mic Check in the Morning.
Harpdaddy, Darren Lovelace-Smith, and Mudd Puddle, Jake, are a dynamic father-son duo. The band is involved with the Alaska Music Project for Youth and say they like to encourage kids to get on stage and perform.
“It’s been a vision of mine for a number of years to … have more blues up here in Alaska,” said Lovelace-Smith. “I think it’s a hotbed for it.”
You can see them play at the Office Cocktail Lounge Saturday, Dec. 12 at 8 p.m. Admission is free.
