Man accused of sexual contact of girl at store

By Associated Press 2:52 PM June 5, 2014

Anchorage police say a 59-year-old man is under arrest after he was accused of inappropriately touching a minor girl at a local store.

Carl Teeluk is charged with one count of sexual abuse of a minor.

Police say Teeluk was at the Dimond Boulevard store Tuesday morning when the incident occurred. The girl told her mother that an older man at the store had touched her genitalia.

According to police, Teeluk had left the store before officers arrived, but returned a couple hours later. A store employee called police and followed Teeluk on foot until officers contacted him.

Police say Teeluk was arrested after a preliminary investigation.

A public defender assigned to represent Teeluk did not immediately return a call seeking comment Thursday.
