June 12 fishing report

Here’s a look at this week’s fishing report:

Homer

  • Halibut fishing is good
  • Nick Dudiak Lagoon is fair for kings
  • Trolling for kings is good

Kenai Peninsula

  • Kasilof River king fishing is fair, with fish arriving with the tides
  • Kenai and Russian Rivers are open: Reds and very good, rainbows good

Whittier

  • Halibut fishing is good
  • Trolling for kings is fair
  • Rock fishing is good

Seward

  • Fishing for halibut is very good near Montague Island, weather permitting

Anchorage

  • Fishing for kings is good, but fish the tides for best results
  • Lakes are fishing well, boat access will improve your chances

Mat-Su

  • Fishing for kings is picking up on the Deshka River
  • Mat-Su Valley lakes are good
  • Pike fishing will improve with warming weather
