
Brett Shepard
Chief Meteorologist
Brett Shepard can be seen weekdays on KTVA CBS 11 at 5, 6, and 10 p.m.
Brett joined the CBS 11 Weather Department in October 2002. He began as a Weekend Meteorologist/Reporter, then moved on to CBS 11 News This Morning. In May 2007, he became Chief Meteorologist at the station.
He joined the CBS 11 News team right out of college. Brett attended Western Illinois University and earned a degree in meteorology with a minor in broadcasting.
Brett grew up in a Navy family and throughout his life has called California, Virginia, North Carolina and Illinois home. But he's found a new home in Alaska. If you remember seeing Brett doing Get Out reports, you know he enjoys the outdoors. During his time off you'll find him downhill skiing, playing soccer, golfing, biking, cross-country skiing, and hiking.
Brett is also the spokesperson for the Alaska chapter of the American Lung Association, and participates in their Clean Air Challenge and Fight for Air Climb events.
