Sick and dead birds wash up on beaches
ANCHORAGE- Alaska’s first recorded case of avian cholera is killing hundreds of birds in the Bering Sea.
The infection is relatively common in waterfowl according to Alaska’s Department of Fish and Game.
Many sick and dead birds are showing up on Saint Lawrence Island’s beaches.
Department of Fish and Game officials are warning people who live on the island not to touch a sick bird without gloves or eat the birds.
