Zero Cases of ‘Infant Surrender’ Reported to Date in Alaska

Passed into law in 2008, the Safe Surrender for Infants Act gives parents a 21-day window to surrender a newborn without threat of prosecution.

21 days without the threat of prosecution to 'surrender' a child? I thought it was set up so that they could turn in a child so they DIDN'T hurt it.
