Thousands of runners, walkers and strollers covered the streets of downtown Anchorage, turning it into one big running track for Skinny Raven’s 12K and 6K races.

More than 2,000 people registered this year, and despite the cooler rainy weather, many of them showed up.

For the first time in Twilight 12K history the Skinny Raven offered a shorter race, rightfully named “The Skinny Mini 6K.”

David Kiplagat took home the $1,000 grand prize by the skin of his teeth, winning the 12K at 38 minutes, 2 seconds. Jerome Ross was barely behind him, taking second, with 38 minutes, 4 seconds.

Top female runner, Holly Brooks came in at 44 minutes, 58 seconds, also taking the $1,000 top prize.

We also congratulate our own CBS-11 Photographer Dave Valdes, he came in 2nd place in his age division, 30-39 years old.
