With one man injured in the hospital, the Anchorage police are looking for an alleged shooting suspect.

According to police, a call came in around 4:00pm reporting a man in his forties with multiple gun shot wounds. The shooting happened in the area between Davis and Mountain View Community Park.

Officers said the shooting happened while hundreds of people were enjoying the weather in neighboring parks by North Pine St. But people close-by didn’t hear shots fire.

“There is different barbecues going on and as soon they turned on their music, about a minuet and a half two minuets later thousands of cops swarmed, they just came in here swarmed blocked everything off,” said Raquelle Layne\, in the area during alleged shooting.

The Anchorage police said an ambulance picked up the shooting victim from an open field near Davis Park, and transported him to a local hospital

Police said the man appeared to be shot in the stomach and foot, but they said his injuries are not considered life threatening

The suspect from the shooting is said to have run off in the woods near Davis Park.

“Our emphasis was here in the park, especially since we had a lot of kids playing in the woods and so fourth, so we had a team, we established a perimeter around the wood line and we had a team that went through the woods,” said Sgt. Mark Rein of the Anchorage Police Department.

“We did not find the suspect,” he said.

However, police said they have a clear idea on the identity of the suspect. According to the victim, suspect is a white male in a tan vest.

Due to the ongoing investigation, the Anchorage police will not release any other information.

My family and i live close to the park and heard the gunshots and the sirens directly after and we live about 5 blocks away. I dont understand how the people in the park heard nothing. I think this was probably gang related and the people in the park are keeping mum for their own safety.
