Mayor Sullivan Eyes Dan Coffey for Port Fund Lobbying GigTo help get money to expand the Port of Anchorage, Mayor Dan Sullivan is again looking to tap former assemblyman Dan Coffey.
To help get money to expand the Port of Anchorage, Mayor Dan Sullivan is again looking to tap former assemblyman Dan Coffey.
But first, the Anchorage Assembly must approve the $60,000 price tag to hire him. If approved, Coffey's consulting firm would be responsible for lobbying state lawmakers for nearly $350 million toward the port expansion project. Coffey would join the city’s year-round lobbyist who already receives $100,000 a year. Currently, the project has been slowed due to financial problems and setbacks with construction. Sullivan previously hired Coffey to head up the city's Title 21 proposal. The assembly is scheduled to take up the mayor’s latest request Tuesday, Nov. 8. |
