Lt. Gov. Chief of Staff's Son Injured in AfghanistanAlaska's Lt. Governor Mead Treadwell's chief of staff David Stone's son Brandon Stone a Lt. in the Navy lost a foot to a IED in Afghanistan while on patrol.
27-year-old Brandon David Stone is the son of Lt.Governor Meade Treadwell's chief of staff, David Stone and was injured in Afghanistan Saturday.
Stone, a Lt. Navy SEAL was on patrol in the Helmand province when he was injured. Stone was leading 19 other sailors and a group of Afghani troops when he stepped on an improvised explosive device or IED losing a foot. Stone also sustained additional injuries to his upper body. According to a press release, none of the other troops in his unit were injured in the explosion. Stones picture was put up on the lieutenant governor's website Saturday. Other Alaska troops are set to leave for Afghanistan soon. The first stryker brigade, stationed at Fort Wainwright held an official deployment ceremony in Fairbanks this week. The entire brigade, over five thousand troops are heading to Afghanistan throughout the rest of the month for a one-year deployment in support of operation enduring freedom. |

God bless Brandon, his family and all our troops serving. Thank you God for answered prayers! Last heard Brandon is physically recovering remarkably and miraculously well. He's got his prosthetic leg and already performing jumps in physical therapy!! Praise God! Please continue to keep him in your prayers.

Er...uh...Sean that would be an IED, not an IUD! Seriously, so sad this soldier lost his foot. He and his family will be in my prayers.
