ANCHORAGE - Wednesday morning the FBI released deceased serial killer Israel Keyes’ suicide note (click for PDF), which had been held for examination since Keyes’ December 2 suicide at the Anchorage Correctional Complex.
Anchorage FBI spokesman Eric Gonzalez described the note as “just writings.” Gonzalez said both the FBI’s Cryptoanalysis Unit and Questioned Documents Unit in Virginia had reviewed the note and found no hidden messages or codes that would lead to the identification of other victims. “There were no hidden messages or codes,” he said. “Just writings… people can draw their own conclusions as to their meaning. There’s just no investigative leads to be gleaned from the writings.”
In a statement released along with the suicide note, the FBI says, "The writings, a combination of pencil and ink on yellow legal pad, were discovered beneath Keyes' body, illegible and covered with blood."
The rambling note ends with "Okay, talk is over, words are flacid [sic] and weak. Back it with action or it all comes off cheap. Watch close while I work now, feel the electric shock of my touch, open my trembling flower, or your petals I'll crush."
