Fairbanks Based Stryker Soldier Killed In Afghanistan

The Fairbanks based soldier who died Friday in Afghanistan has been identified as Pfc. Douglas Leonard Cordo, 20, of Kingston, NY.

Pfc. Cordo was driving a stryker vehicle on a mounted patrol with two other Soldiers in the village of Shah Joy, in Afghanistan’s Zabul Province, when an imporvised explosive device detonated their vehicle. The bomb injured the passengers but killed Pfc. Cordo.

Pfc. Cordo joined the Army in March 2010 and arrived in Alaska in July 2010. He served as an infantryman during his assignment to the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Fort Wainwright.
 
Specialist Cordo was part of the 4,000-Soldier brigade deployed to Afghanistan in mid April 2011 for a one-year tour in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
 
The next of kin have been notified. A memorial ceremony will be held at Fort Wainwright to honor Specialist Cordo.

All of these WARS are UNCONSTITIONAL and are ILLEGAL!!! The UNITED STATES GOVERMENT is run by CRIMINALS and TRAITORS!!!! This poor kid was killed for nothing to do with freedom!
