Anchorage Police Department says 24-year-old Biniyaha Blombergalam drove his Chevy pickup through the front window of the historic Kobuk Coffee Company building at about 3:15 this morning.

Officers say Blombergalam was driving the wrong way on E Street when he collided with a Saab then careened through the front of the shop.

The Kobuk Coffee Company Store was first built in 1915 and is one of the oldest buildings in Anchorage. It contained many original pieces of Russian china.

Officers say the driver of the Saab was treated for minor injuries, but neither Blombergalam nor his two passengers were hurt.

Blombergalam fled the scene after the crash according to police.

One of the shop's owners says she is relieved no one was seriously hurt.
