The most recent case involves a search warrant served on a residence on Turner Lane in Jackson’s Trailer Court on Thursday which was the result of an investigation by the troopers. The effort was coordinated with several state and federal agencies including the Drug Enforcement Agency, Coast Guard Investigative Service, Alaska Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Enforcement, Alaska State Troopers and the Kodiak Police Department. Found in the search were quantities of methamphetamine and cocaine. A 51-year-old Kodiak man was arrested on multiple felony counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance. He was taken to the Kodiak Jail without a set bail. A burglary at a home in Bells Flats early in February has led to the arrest of three other people for theft and drug charges. Troopers responded to and investigated the burglary Feb. 2. Following a lead, troopers developed a 39-year-old Kodiak man as a suspect. Along with the Kodiak Police Department, troopers obtained warrants to search the man’s residence, vehicle and person. During the search, Troopers found property stolen from the Bell’s Flats home as well as methamphetamine. The 39-year-old man was arrested and taken to the Kodiak Jail on felony charges of theft, and misconduct involving a controlled substance. He was scheduled for a pre-trial hearing today. Further investigation led the Troopers and police department to serve a search warrant on another residence where they found more property stolen from the Bells Flats home, along with meth and cocaine. Subsequently, arrest warrants were issued for two more Kodiak residents, who were arrested Feb. 14 and charged with multiple felony counts of theft and misconduct involving a controlled substance.
