Note: The black bear at left is not one of those at Bartlett.
ANCHORAGE, Wednesday, 1:45 p.m. - Anchorage police are at Bartlett High responding to a call by two workers who were installing multimedia equipment inside Bartlett and came across a black bear cub inside the school. The workers called police about 1 p.m. Wednesday. The workers saw another cub hiding in the woods next to the school and believe there could be a sow nearby also.
Police and Fish and Game officials have walked through the entire Bartlett building, but didn’t find the cub and there was no apparent damage. Officers say the bear could have easily exited the building through multiple open doors, due to construction at the school.
